JEE?Main Entrance Exam 2022

JEE?Main has 2 papers, Paper-1?& Paper-2. Candidates may opt for either or both of them. Both papers contain?MCQ?(Multiple Choice Questions). JEE?Advance Entrance Exam 2022

Students who qualify?JEE Main?can?appear?for?JEE Advanced?examination. In 2022, 2,24,000 students?are?qualified?JEE Advanced?Entrance Exam,?a number that had gone up from 2,00,000?(2016) to 2,20,000 (2017). JEE Advanced Entrance Exam 2022 will be held on May 20, 2022 (Sunday). The entire?JEE Advanced Entrance Exam 2022 will be conducted in fully computer based test mode.

Eligibility Criteria

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for appearing JEE Main 2022 is given below:

Age Criteria:

Date of Birth: Candidates those born on or after 1st October 1993 are eligible for writing the JEE Main examination.

Relaxation: 5 years relaxation shall be provided in the upper age limit of SC/ST & PWD candidates (i.e. DOB falls on or after 1st October 1988).

Date of Birth will be considered as mentioned in secondary education board certificate.

Qualification Criteria:

Qualifying Exam: It is must for the candidates to pass the 12th examination/qualifying examination with 5 subjects to be eligible for JEE Main 2022.

Subjects: The qualifying examination must be passed/appearing with five subjects. Candidates must have

physics & mathematics as compulsory subjects.

No Minimum Marks: There is no minimum marks requirement in the 12th examination for writing the JEE Main exam. However, candidates have to secure the passing marks.

Passing Year: Those who have appeared & passed higher secondary (+2) examination in 2019 and 2022 are also eligible to apply. Moreover, candidates appearing the final examination of 12th (+2) in 2022 can also fill the JEE Main application form.

In case if candidate appeared the 12th exam in 2018 but not passed in 2018, passed in 2022 are also not eligible for JEE Main 2022.

Diploma Holders can likewise apply for JEE Main 2022 but only qualified for admission to IITs. In other words, Diploma holders will be qualified for JEE Main so that they can further apply for JEE Advanced but not qualified for admission on the basis of JEE Main scores.

Number of Attempts:

Total 3 attempts will be given for clearing JEE Main 2022. Attempts will be counted from the year 2017 onwards. JEE Advanced 2022 can be attempted maximum 2 times in consecutive years.

Eligibility for Admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs:

Percentage Marks: To be eligible for admission in IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions), candidates should have obtained 75 percentage (SC/ST - 65 percentage) marks in 12th examination or must be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th examination of respective boards.

JEE?Advanced Exam -?Eligibility Criteria

Performance in JEE Main

  • The candidate should be among top 2,24,000 (all categories included) in JEE Main 2022.?
  • 50.5% for General Categories Students (from the common rank list), 27% for OBC-NCL Categories?Students, 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST Categories?Students. Within each of these four categories, 3% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates. also, PwD category includes Dyslexic candidates.

Age Limit

  • GEN & OBC-NCL category student's age limit is 24 years
  • SC, ST & PwD category student's age limit is 29 years?

JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern

Here, we are describing the JEE Main Exam Pattern 2022. It provides details about the number of questions, subjects covered, marking scheme, etc. As JEE Main is conducted in two different papers. Check the exam structure separately for both the papers:

For JEE Main Paper-1:

Course: Paper-1 is conducted for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses.

Exam Mode: The exam mode for paper 1 will be offline (PBT) as well as online (CBT). Candidates can opt any one of the modes as per their suitability.

Subjects: The paper-1 will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.

Number of Questions: 30 questions will be asked from each subject with the total of 90 questions comprising of 360 marks.

Type of Questions: Only objective type questions will be asked in Paper-1.

Language: For all exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi(except exam centre cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be English, Hindi and Gujarati). The choice for question paper should be exercised while filling up the application form.

Exam Duration: The time duration will be 3 hours.

Marking Scheme: Candidates will be provided with +4 marks for each correct answer.

Negative Marking: In case of the wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.

For JEE Main Paper-2:

  • ? Course: Paper2 is conducted for admission to Planning/B.Arch courses.
  • ? Exam Mode: The exam mode for this paper will be offline (PBT ? Paper Based Test)
  • ? Number of Questions: 30 questions will be asked in Mathematics (Part-1), 50 questions in aptitude test (Part-2) and 2 questions in drawing comprising of total 390 marks.
  • ? Type of Questions: Mathematics & Aptitude test section will contain objective type questions. Drawing test will be subjective.
  • ? Language: For all exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi (except exam centre cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be English, Hindi & Gujarati). The choice for question paper must be exercised while filling up the application form.
  • ? Exam Duration: Time duration will be 3 hours.
